Voyage of the Increase

This was an assignment for my AP Art class. I was supposed to somehow illustrate my family's history, so I chose to show the boat my ancestors immigrated on (or how I imagine it might have looked) traveling to my future home. As you might guess from the picture, we came from England. I used the old red and white English flag and not the flag of Britain or the UK because, when we left, it was just England. The other two didn't exist yet. (At least, I'm pretty sure. I'm not too strong in European history.)

Yeah. It's been a while.

Done in acrylic paint on canvas (my first major painting! *is proud*)
